Description
The tranquil village of Dolcedo, with its sandy beaches, is a mere 6 km from the sea; it is widely known for its completely preserved historic villagescape. The 12th century Knights Hospitaller bridge spans a wide arch across the romantic backdrop of the river with its old mills and colourful houses. No wonder that this view has become a symbol of the beauty of the Ligurian villages.
The excellent infrastructure of the hamlet offers a bank, a chemist, a bakery, a butcher’s and a well-stocked village shop with everything for your daily needs. In addition, a number of restaurants and pizzerias have established themselves in the picturesque alleys. The village also has a very good bus connection to Imperia.
On the last Sunday of the month, an antiques market animates the quaint Piazza and invites you to rummage. During the summer months, classical concerts are performed at irregular intervals in the Church Square of San Tommaso, the main church of Dolcedo. Maybe you will be lucky enough to meet a famous musician in the small coffee bar whilst enjoying a cappuccino.
The Casa del Notaio is the ancestral seat of one of the most well-known family of notaries within the region. For many generations the members of the Re Family have notarised business transactions they have been entrusted with. The stately Palazzo dominates the tranquil Piazza and you can literally tell that in this building history was made and stories were written. Today the offices of the notaries are in Imperia and the distinguished rooms have been converted into 3 holiday apartments.
The Casa del Notaio 2 is a large, homely apartment laid out over two floors. The first living level consists of two bedrooms and a modern shower room. Both bedrooms have large, bright windows that face the grassed Piazza and can be shaded with wooden shutters. The two (king size) beds and the family-owned antique furniture provide the opportunity for one family or two couples to enjoy a relaxing holiday.
The homely upper floor of the apartment is accessed via a slate staircase. Here, under the roof, you will find plenty of space for an open-plan kitchen with an oven and a refrigerator, a dining area directly in front of the French doors and a comfortable sofa. From here you can access the terrace, which has a barbecue and a dining table. If required, two sun loungers can be utilised.
Behind the house is a large, well-kept garden for the guests of the three apartments in the Casa del Notaio. The garden is equipped with sunloungers, a large outdoor kitchen with barbecue, a spacious, covered sitting area and a separate dressing room with shower and WC. Here you can spend relaxed holiday days enjoying the sun and the peace of the ligurian hinterland.. On the ground floor is a new laundry room with washing machine and dry possibility, which is available to guests free of charge.
There is a private parking space for your car 50 m from the house. The handy gas central heating allows you to have a relaxed holiday even when the days are slightly cooler.
